Young Engineer of the Month
If you have read About Us you know that we started Toot Toot Toys following our experiences with our children.
We would like to provide our customers with the opportunity for their young toy train fan to be recognised in our Young Engineer of the Month Gallery.
Send us your favourite story about your young engineer(s) and their love of trains. We will select a winner and in addition to being displayed for the month on Toot Toot Toys we will also offer a special prize. Over the months and years ahead the gallery will provide a fascinating pictorial history of those who have enjoyed the delights on offer from Toot Toot Toys. (And maybe get a listing in Google!) If you only want their first name used, that is fine, just don't provide their surname.
Unlucky engineers will remain in the draw, so don't despair if you are not picked straight away.
Simply send us a story and a photo of your young engineer(s). (Photo can be in any format eg; jpeg, gif, bitmap)
Entries close on the last day of each month with winners announced usually in the first half of the next month. |
Young Engineer for September 2010
Josh
This Josh - a 4 yrs old boy and a certified Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends fanatic! :)
His dad gave Josh his first Thomas train set when he was 3 months old, which became a motivation for his crawling. He would follow the little loop on fours. :) He learned counting 1-10 and recognizing colours with the aide of Thomas' trains. He knows the train by its number (if numbered) and colours.
On his first birthday, he was shown pictures of characters for his party theme, and guess who he picked? Thomas, nonetheless. He did the same for his second and third birthday. Thanks to birthdays' and Christmases'gifts, he now has a wide collection of Thomas now, mostly trains, DVDs and books. He even has an autograph of Christopher Awdry, the son of Reverend Wilbert Vere Awdry, the author of Thomas The Railway Series books in which the character of Thomas originated.
He has been to Zigzag railways in Blue Mountains (and wants to go again). One of his most memorable Thomas experiences is seeing Thomas Live on Stage (and yes, he wants to see it again, too).
He always keeps a train or two beside his bed at night - most of the time, Thomas and James. Whenever he goes for weekend trips (and even overseas), he always carries a bag full of Thomas and his friends (and loads of tracks). Another favorite at the moment is Cranky the Crane. He keeps a Thomas catalogue and has a checklist of stuff he already has, and a keeps a wishlist for this coming Christmas.
