Young Engineer of the Month
If you have read About Us you know that we started Toot Toot Toys following our experiences with our children.
We would like to provide our customers with the opportunity for their young toy train fan to be recognised in our Young Engineer of the Month Gallery.
Send us your favourite story about your young engineer(s) and their love of trains. We will select a winner and in addition to being displayed for the month on Toot Toot Toys we will also offer a special prize. Over the months and years ahead the gallery will provide a fascinating pictorial history of those who have enjoyed the delights on offer from Toot Toot Toys. (And maybe get a listing in Google!)
Unlucky engineers will remain in the draw, so don't despair if you are not picked straight away.
Simply send us a story and a photo of your young engineer(s). (Photo can be in any format eg; jpeg, gif, bitmap)
Entries close on the last day of each month with winners announced in the first week of the next month. |
Young Engineer for October 2008
Joel Ware
Joel first started playing with Thomas the Tank Engine Trains from when he was around 2-3 years old. Over time with the help of Mum he has built up an impressive collection of wooden trains and has nearly every train ever made and produced in the wooden range by Learning Curve starting from 1992.
His most very all time favourite train is Henry, and then followed closely by Edward. His favourite story is the Sad Story of Henry where Henry got bricked up in a tunnel. Joel can reenact this with the Henry's Tunnel and Brick piece, plus he also has an official sad faced Henry that Learning Curve released to recreate this story.
He is now an official "collector/player" and we are often searching for the elusive hard to find trains together on the internet. We have managed to get a lot of his retired trains from the United States, including ones that were never released here in Australia or exclusives.
Joel wants to be when he grows up, like all little engineers, a train driver. I sincerely hope trains are still around by the time he gets to this age and that he can fulfill this dream of driving a steam train just like Thomas. |
